Tooth preparations, impressions, provisionalisation cementation/bonding

The clinical procedure of preparing teeth for fixed restorations will be analysed. A step-by-step protocol for tooth preparations, retraction, impression, registration, temporisation and cementation will be presented utilising presentation of clinical cases and videos. The procedure will be repeated from the participants in simulation models during the practical part of the workshop. Following the exercise an interactive discussion will allow the participants to fully understand and absorb the more delicate procedures like bonding to tooth structure.

  • Apply contemporary preparations design to everyday clinical practice.
  • Recognise and evaluate clinical conditions and safely decide on the type of restoration (eg metal vs. all ceramic) and relevant preparation design
  • Apply the impression technique required for the relevant clinical condition
  • Analyse complex clinical situations and apply the required cementation procedures.
